Work for Life is a campaign initiated by Home Care Ontario and the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA), and funded by the Government of Ontario, to raise awareness about the opportunities and benefits of becoming a Personal Support Worker (PSW).
We represent compassionate, hard-working PSWs and other home care professionals who provide necessary and valuable care to patients all across the province.
The percentage of PSWs who said they would recommend becoming a PSW because of the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

The future of PSWs in Ontario
Ontario’s population is aging. It means our home care needs are growing and the job opportunities for Personal Support Workers are multiplying. We launched the Work for Life campaign to spread the word and provide all the necessary resources in one spot for those thinking about a career in health care. What exactly is a PSW? What are the benefits? How long until I’m working? We will answer all your questions and help you make the choice of a lifetime.
Personal Support Workers come from all backgrounds. Some are fresh out of high school and some are starting their second career. Some go on to become doctors and nurses or take on other roles in the health care system. But no matter how you come to be a PSW or where you go with it, you’ll be entering a career with a short training process, a flexible work schedule, incredible job security, and the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of others every day.
Work for Life is about making sure everyone knows the opportunities available for Personal Support Workers. On this site you’ll find information on the opportunities available in the personal support industry, how easy it is to find work, and the meaningful impact you will have in people’s lives as a PSW.
